There’s no better day to read something motivational than on a Monday. Well, it’s not called the ‘Monday Blues,’ for nothing! A sudden emotional shift from a weekend of rest, to the 9 to 5 grind, has been proven to negatively affect our emotions – giving Monday it’s bad rep of being the worst day the week – add in a job that you hate and you are sure to be running on negativity all day!
So, what better day to read something feel good?
This post has been on my mind for a while. When does it become too late to do something you really love?
Yes, life is busy – and we get so caught up in trying to meet every demand at work, school or at home, that sometimes it feels like our dreams get placed on the back-burner.
We suddenly start to question the ideas we once felt passionate about; “That was a silly idea,” “I have waited too long”, “I don’t think this is possible anymore,” and slowly, the feelings of excitement and anticipation turn into doubt, regret and disappointment.
From this point, you have two choices.
Either to abandon these ideas and dreams, assuming that you have lost the passion to one day turn them a reality, or rather to realise that perhaps you should stop putting an expiry date on your dreams and instead take small steps each day to bring you closer to the things you have always wanted.
Your dreams do not have an expiry date.
You created them. You woke up one day and realised that this dream would give your life purpose – and in the same breath; just as you have created them, you determine the result – irrespective of the time it takes, the effort it involved or the transformation that takes place from the original thought.
So, if I could leave you with one thought for your Monday – it would be to keep pushing and stop doubting yourself. Do something today – no matter how small – that somehow brings you closer to the things you love.
